Birdhouse Skateboard Wheels – Roll Into Action
A wheel is the basic component of all moving objects. There are different types of wheels for different kinds of objects. Each type of wheel is made to serve a specific purpose. In the same manner, different varieties of skateboards have different types of wheels attached to them. The wheels attached to the skateboards are based on the type of skateboarding that one performs. For instance, larger wheels are attached to longboard skateboards for longboarding. Birdhouse skateboard wheels are meant for street skateboarding.
Skateboard wheels may be classified in two catogories – on the basis of their size and on the basis of their hardness. Based on size, skateboard wheels may be categorized into small, medium and large. Small wheels have a diameter between 50mm and 55mm. The diameter of medium wheels lies in the range of 56mm to 60 mm. The larger wheels have a diameter greater than 60 mm. Based on their hardness, skateboard wheels may be graded as hard or soft. The hardness of a wheel is measured in terms of durometer units. The higher the durometer count, the harder the wheel. Skateboard wheels usually have a durometer between 70a and 100a. Most of the Birdhouse skateboard wheels have a diameter between 50mm and 54mm and thus fall into the category of small wheels. There are hard wheels with the durometer reading of approximately 99.
