Social Security Disability: Avail the Benefits with Strong Medical Proof
The aid is intended to go on if the individual’s condition does not improve. These are administered by the social Security Administration and only individuals who have a disability and meet medical criteria may qualify for benefits under either program. Some people are of the opinion that filing for the social security disability is a tedious and on going process. But there are also cases where the individual just sails through the entire process and gets the benefits rightly deserved. The fact is that the amount of time it takes for an application to be approved or denied varies, depending on the level of the process at which the award is made.
To qualify for disability and to avail the benefits there are certain processes which an individual must pass through. If the individual gets cleared, then he/she is eligible to get the benefits. The first criteria pertain to the disability eligibility regarding the basic standards. These standards include issues such as; being out of work for a certain length of time and not earning more than what is allowed.
Work includes your past work generally the work you performed for a year or longer at any time within the last 15 years and other work. Other work pertains to the consideration of your age, education, and your physical and/or mental restrictions you might reasonably be expected to transfer your existing work skills to. The next set of criteria solely pertains to the individual’s medical condition or psychological condition.
The next step for the ssi disability is the interview with the concerned officer of the Social Security Administration. This interview is either done in person or over the phone, depending on both the condition and situation. Following the completion of the applicant’s paperwork and interview, the file will then be transferred over to the in charge of evaluating the claim for disability. The in charge may be the state level agencies which are generally referred to as Disability Determination Services.
The social security benefits are granted to those people who are cleared by the examiner and have medical records that clearly state the individual’s disability. If the medical records indicate that the individual is capable of working for a certain type of job, the applicant will be denied social security disability benefits. The person having strong medical proof indicating his/her disability will emerge as winner of the benefits.
