IE-Security May Rob Your PC of Security
IE-Security is a fairly new rogue security program that uses deceptive advertising in order to hopefully take money from the user. This application usually enters your system through corrupt video codec’s or by visiting a dangerous website that generates pop-up ads. This program claims to remove parasites that exist on your computer, but it is all a scam.These types of programs are designed to scare you into purchasing the product. The pop-up windows alert you to infections that supposedly exist, and invite you to download a scan to detect these threats. With this application, the files that are supposedly infected may be Windows system files that should not be removed, as the performance of your PC may suffer. IE-Security states that they will remove these parasites and restore security, but you must purchase the product. This malicious malware can do none of the things it claims to do.Will you know if this parasite is on your PC?Most malware causes common symptoms that alert the user to a problem. With this one, you may notice that your browser redirects to unknown websites, or that you have a limited Internet connection. Other signs are a slow running computer, the never-ending pop-up security alerts, and general system instability.What spyware can doSpyware is dangerous to varying degrees. Most of these rogue security program have the ability to collect information about you and what you do when you are online. The searches you perform, websites you visit, personal passwords and private business information may be accessed, and this data could be sold to third parties. It also uses system resources and memory, and can damage your PC.If you have IE-Security installed, remove itIf you do discover that this parasite has installed on your PC, you should remove it at once to prevent further problems and the possibility of even more malware being placed on your computer. While this can be done manually, you should not attempt to remove these programs yourself unless you are very knowledgeable in the process. Manual removal can damage your PC, and you run the risk of removing files that are necessary for your computer to function properly. The smart thing to do is to use a reputable antispyware product that is designed to remove these parasites automatically, restoring security to your computer.
