Emailing Your Ex Girlfriend – The Right Time To Contact Your Ex
In today’s age, there are more ways than ever before to keep in touch with someone. Even after your relationship ends, there are a half dozen methods you can use to keep track of or stay in contact with someone you dated. Between emailing your ex girlfriend, texting her, or even writing on her Facebook wall… keeping the lines of communication open can be as simple as a few clicks of the mouse or keyboard.Did your girlfriend dump you, or otherwise end things between you? If so, the next piece of advice is probably most important: don’t fight the break up. You must agree to and accept the end of your relationship if you want to move forward with getting your girlfriend back. You can’t win her over if you’ve never accepted her decision to end things in the first place. Remember this lesson above all else, as it’s crucial to reopening the channels of communication between you and your ex during the reconcilation process.The next thing you must do after breaking up? Leave your ex girlfriend alone for a while. Both of you need time to process the break up, and you especially want your ex to be all alone. Reflecting on what happened between you is an important part of healing, and this is best accomplished while she’s missing you. Your ex won’t miss you if you’re constantly emailing or calling her, which is why breaking all contact is the only true way to make things happen for the future of your relationship together.Emailing your ex girlfriend during the opening stages of a break up is always a bad move, and so is text-messaging her. Let go of your electronic ties by making it easier on yourself: shut off your computer and turn off your cellphone for a week or two. You’ll enjoy the newfound freedom, and might find that you don’t even miss the burden of having to always answer to people. Don’t update your “status” or write on your Facebook wall… leave all that stuff in the dust while you go out and have fun, do new things, take up old hobbies, and generally move on with your life.After a while, usually a few weeks to a month or more, you’ll be able to reconnect with your ex. When this happens, email is a nice way of getting back in touch. Find a funny joke or video that someone has forward you, and send it to her for a laugh. Ask your ex how she’s doing, and if everything’s going well. She’ll respond to you favorably, because enough time has passed to soften any hard feelings the two of you might’ve had. She’ll welcome your contact too, because you’re approaching her in a non-confrontational way.From there, an email conversation will usually follow. Don’t answer every single email she sends you right away – you want to come off as busy and occupied, not needy and desperate. Keep things light and happy… try to make her laugh, and keep your exgirlfriend feeling comfortable with continuing to talk to you. Don’t pry for info, interrogate your ex, or ask her if she’s seeing anyone else – anything that tips her off to you being jealous will make her want to break contact again. Instead, pique her interest in you by being fun, funny, and vague about your own activites. The more mystery you can provide, the more interested your ex will be in you.Over time, emailing your ex girlfriend will lead to a friendly relationship again. Here’s where you can ask her out for lunch or coffee – something simple and neutral that doesn’t require much thought. She’ll agree to see you again because you’ve already established a rapport with her… and also because she’s having fun talking to you. This is why you want to avoid any serious topics or anything that might make your ex uncomfortable during your emails.
